Who we are

Part of the Martin Grade Scenic Highway Team.
Photo by Stephen Leek for the Community Foundation

In the early 1990's, the people of Martin County took a stand for the trees and were able to keep them from being bulldozed down when the road was first paved.

Just a few members of the Martin Grade Team - Left to right:  Ed Oliver, Mona Schwall, Amanda Farinos, Lee Jones,  Mary Dawson, Jimmy Schwall, Linda Green, Margaret Morales, Nancy Oliver
But more must be done to protect the trees in face of traffic generated by future growth in the area and invasive native species.

Only the people can protect the trees!
